Film Description

With perseverance and sacrifice John Stobart has been inspired to dedicate his life to the mastery of painting. All while preserving and promoting classic painting techniques, both as an educator and a benefactor.

While retracing a life that has produced a legacy of artistic achievement, Mr. Stobart presents his views on the future of the art, concerns of contemporary art education, and the resulting direction our culture is headed. An important question is posed, are we as a western society fulfilling our duties as the custodians of our rich cultural history?
